Who We Are Wellness services Founder
Our story

Hey there! I’m Maya Modi.
In 2018, I founded MayaXKiwi, designing a product line of DIY Watercolor Kits. During the 2020 Lockdown, the business grew 6150% in the course of a month. Suddenly, I was helping people cope with isolation across the country, companies started reaching out to me for Virtual Workshops, and watercolor became a source of connection more than an art project. At the same time, the stress of running a multi-six figure business alone was building. A year later, the hustle caught up to me and the burnout started set in. I was then diagnosed with a chronic illness which would change the course of my entire life.
In 2026, I underwent some intense treatment for my chronic illness, and thankfully I came out on the other side, stronger, healthier, and symptom free! During the recovery process I had a lot of time to think about the purpose of my suffering and how I can use it to help other people.
Born from my own burnout,
I founded Brush Break.
I learned burnout is what happens when a person is stressed for an extended period of time without consistent intervention.
And although there are many different ways to reduce burnout through somatic practices, watercolor is what I do best. Now, I travel the country, simplifying watercolor for regular people to prevent stress before it turns into a more serious problem. I can do the most good when people are under pressure from their performance-based jobs, which is why I now specifically cater to corporate organizations.
I don’t need technology to measure my success, I can see it first hand. I know my methods work because about halfway through every session, the room gets really, really quiet and you notice everyone's shoulders slowly dropping. Testimonials, waitlists, recurring invitations to host more workshops, and follow up emails asking for more watercolor recommendations… This is my Why. If I can make one small thing difference in peoples lives, I can hold my head high knowing I’m fulfilling my purpose.
